Tibet weather & climate is not as harsh as people imagine and it is comfortable from every April to the beginning of November, and August to September will be the best time to visit Tibet. One can tour Tibet year round if one only visit Lhasa.
Sun radiation is quite strong in Tibet. The sunlight in Lhasa is so intense makes the city known as "Sunlight City". The thin air can neither block off nor retain heat so that the temperature extremes can be met in daytime and the same night respectively in Tibet. However it is not impossible to visit the holy snow land. May, June, August, September and October are the tourism peak season in east Tibet.
The major annual rainfall in Tibet comes in the rainy season starting from June to September. Usually it rains at night in Lhasa, Shigatse and Chamdo area. The rainfall may block roads and make travel difficult while the scenery at the time will be the best.
