Fengdu Ghost City
Reputed as the "Ghost City" since the Eastern Han Dynasty, Fengdu is located on the northern bank of the Yangtze, some 176 km downstream from Chongqing and is a must see shore excursion highlights for travellers on the Yangtze River.
The story about Fengdu was that there were two officials from the imperial court, Wang Fang Ping and Ying Chang Sheng came to Mountain Minshan outside Fengdu city to practice Taoist teachings as they were bored with political life in the court. Both of them later became undying by carrying out self-cultivation. Their surnames Yin and Wang sound very much like "King of Hell" in Chinese when combined together. Hence the people began to call Fengdu the "Ghost City". Chinese people believe that the social structure is hell and is exactly like what in the real world. In hell, one's spirit goes through the whole bureaucracy to be finally judged. Those pure of spirit will be rewarded and the sinful of spirit will be punished. Punishment would be different to different kinds of sins. The temples built on Mountain Minshan show punishing instruments and demon paintings, which depict the Chinese people's imagination of Hell.

Small Gorges & Daning River
The Daning River descents from the southern foot of Mountain Daba and joins the Yangtze River at the western entrance of the Wu Gorge. The river is the largest tributary to the Yangtze River which strechs 250 km.
The Small Gorges is about 50 km in length, and is referred to the three gorges such as Longmen (Dragon Gate), Bawu and Dicui on the lower reaches of the Daning River.Being one of the Top 40 China's Tourist Attractions, it is one of the main cruise excursion to travellers on Yangtze River.

Three Gorges Dam
Completed in 2009, the Three Gorges Dam built in Sandouping, which is in the middle of the Xiling Gorge, the longest of the three gorges on the Yantze River, renowned as the largest water conservancy project of the world.
The Three Gorges Dam is 2,335 meters long, 185 meters high, 18 meters wide on the top and 130 meters wide at the bottom. The dam raises the river to a level of 175 meters above sea level, creating a 600 km long reservoir and offering a storage capacity of 39.9 billion cubic meters extending from the dam all the way to Chongqing. There were 570,000 acres of farmland, hundreds of villages in 19 counties and cities have been flooded, making 1.5 million people to be relocated.
The construction of the project cost 473 billion CNY. The dam is great help for the purpose of flood control, electricity, navigation, and irrigation.
