Beijing ~ Chengde Summer Resort |

Take a 4.5 hours train/van ride (soft-seat) for Chengde, an ideal tourist destination roughly 230 km from Beijing. Upon arrival you will be met by a local tour guide and escorted to the Yunshan Hotel. After lunch, visit Bishushanzhuang meaning the "Summer Resort Mountain Villas", which is the largest existing ancient imperial park in the China. (L) |

Universal Peace Temple Putozongsheng Temple Mountain-Hammer Peak |

Visit the Universal Peace Temple
in the morning. These Tibetan-styled buildings were built by the Qing emperors to commemorate the victory in quelling the rebellion of the Junggaar people in the north. Then take
a drive to the Putozongsheng Temple, the largest one of the "Eight Outer Temples" in Chengde, modeled on the Potala Palace in Tibet. After lunch we take the cable car up the Mountain-Hammer Peak to have a bird¡¯s-eye view of the whole city.
