Seven star park (桂林七星公园) is located at the east bank of Li River, and it is 1.5 km (0.9 mile) to Guilin downtown. The park is the largest comprehensive park and one of the major attractions in Guilin. The Park occupies more than 120 hectares and is named for its seven peaks resemble Big Dipper of the sky.
Seven Star Park boasts the following attractions such as the Flower Bridge, Putuo Hill, Crescent Hill, Seven Star Cave, Camel Hill, Forest of Stele , Square on Bright Civilization of China as well as the Strange Stone Exhibition. The park also contains a zoo with 2 Giant Panda which you can tour for an additional fee. It is a well kept and nice looking park.
Seven Star Cave in the park is an extensive limestone cave complex, which is one of the most popular Guilin attractions. The Seven Star Cave was first discovered in Tang Dynasty, about 1,300 years ago. The cave has a year-round temperature of about 20 degress centigrade. Colourful lighting for walkways and displays is staged throughout the cave. The cave also has guided tours once an hour, conducted in Chinese. We recommend to hire a guide since the lights inside the cave are closed behind the groups as they walk away. The cave tour takes typically 30–60 minutes.
