The highest mountain in the World is known as Mt. Everest in the West. Its real name in Tibetan is Mt. Qomolangma. Qomolangma is a transliteration from Tibetan, signifying "goddess of mountain." The 8,848-meter Qomolangma is the principle top of the Himalayas. Arranged on the fringe in the middle of China and Nepal, it is the highest mountain on the planet. This superb crest has since a long time ago pulled in mountaineers, researchers, and normal travelers.
The mountain was named Mt Everest in 1865 after Sir George Everest, the surveyor-general of India who mapped the top in 1852. As per the Chinese recorded records the mountain was mapped in 1717 by Qing Dynasty (1644 to 1912) authorities.
