Great Mosque Xian

Great Mosque Xian located near the Drum Tower on 30 Huajue Lane of Xian, China, is the oldest and one of the most renowned mosques built in 742 of Tang Dynasty. The Great Mosque Xian remains a popular Xian attraction, and is still used by Chinese Muslims today as a place of worship. Great Mosque Xian is completely Chinese in its construction and architectural style, except for some Arabic lettering and decorations, for the mosque has neither domes nor traditional-style minarets.

Covering an area of 6,000 square meters, the entire complex can be separated into four yards. In the first patio, there is a wooden curve. The curve is nine meters high, with coating secured tiles, and can be followed back to the seventeenth century. Three chambers stand either side of the curve, in which is presently shown some furniture safeguarded from the Ming and Qing administrations. In the inside of the second yard stands a stone curve with two steles on both sides. On the steles are acclaimed calligraphic compositions from unmistakable antiquated calligraphers. The fourth yard contains a major supplication to God lobby which can suit more than a thousand individuals.

The mosque is a blend of customary Chinese structural engineering and Islamic craftsmanship. In Chinese style, there are a progression of structures, with the four patios of the mosque between them. The divider, notwithstanding, is designed with Islamic workmanship.

It is the main mosque in the nation that is interested in guests. Nonetheless, non-Muslim guests are not permitted to enter the principle request to God lobby. The Great Mosque was added to the UNESCO Islamic Heritage List in 1985
