Yinchuan, the capital city of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, is an often-overlooked city that is irrigated by the mighty Yellow River. Located in the middle reaches of the Yellow River, has mountains and plateaus as its major topgraphical forms. There are some 20% of China's Muslim ethnic group lives in Yinchuan, giving Ningxia the nickname "the Muslim Region".
