Basic Facts

Served as provincial capital and the transportation centre, Guiyang means "precious sunshine" in Chinese. There are many various ethnic festivals during whole year, many of the festivals are musical affairs and the locals put on their most colorful clothing, singing and dancing are quite predominant. With beautiful landscapes and brilliant folklore, Guiyang has many tourist attractions such as Qianling Park, Jiaxiu Tower and Huangguoshu Waterfalls. Guiyang is also famous for its local snacks.

Huangguoshu Waterfalls Located 137km from Guiyang, the waterfalls reputed as the most impressive scenic sight in Guizhou Province. Villages of Ethnic Groups Guizhou has some amazing villages of ethnic groups, such as Dong Village in Zhaoxing, Dong Village in Tang An, and Bouyei Village in Zhenshan. The ethnic village in Zhaoxing, located 72km south of Liping, is the largest one and has 700 house and 3,000 people.
