Basic Facts
Yinchuan, the capital city of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, is an often-overlooked city that is irrigated by the mighty Yellow River. Located in the middle reaches of the Yellow River, has mountains and plateaus as its major topgraphical forms. There are some 20% of China's Muslim ethnic group lives in Yinchuan, giving Ningxia the nickname "the Muslim Region". Yinchuan is known for its countless highlights such as Nanguan Mosque, the Chengtian Temple, the Western Xia Imperial Tombs, and Helan Shan Yanhua, etc.

Festivals
The Festival of Fastbreaking
Time: On the first day of the 10th month by Muslim calendar.
Venue: Where Muslim people live.
Content: Men, womem, old and young take bath, put on their holiday best and go to mosque, and purchase traditional food with ethnic an local features.
Corban
Time: On the 10th of the 12th month by the Muslim calendar.
Venue: Where Muslim people live.
Content: Go to mosque and every seven people will share an ox or a camel. Meat will be divided into three portions, one for themselves, one for guests and one for the poor.
Saint Anniversary Day
Time: On the 12th day of the 3rd month by the Muslim calendar.
Venue: Where Muslim people live.
Content: Gathering and pattering Koran, telling the saint's stories and dining together.

Nanguan Mosque The mosque is located in the old section of Yinchuan, which was first built at the end of the Ming Dynasty and renovated in 1981.
